Hi
I'm a newbie, so if my question is simple to solve, I'm sorry.
I downloaded a MKV video from the Azureus site, and when I tried to use Movie factory, to burn so I could watch it on my TV, it didn't "see" the file. I tried to convert it with the Divx converter, which also cannot "see" the file. Both will "see" other MKV files, but not this one. I also installed one of the codec programs - k-lite, but still no help. VLC and the player that came with k-lite play the video o.k. I have also tried some trial conversion programs and just a few from this site. Is this a problem at my end, or has Azureus somehow added something to the file that prevents it from being burned to disc. I'm running windows XP on a dual core machine. Should I try Nero?
Any suggestions , short of having to download 5 or 6 programs to do this ( please legal programs only ), would be greatly appreciated or if you think I should post this in a different forum.
Thanks
and I love this site, but it keeps me up late and I'm now always to tired in the morning.

The three programs I use to convert mkvs are
FAVC
DVD Flick
ConvertXtoDVD
You may also need MKVExtract and MKVMerge, as some mkvs seem to need to be opened, stripped of the the extra crap that gets dumped in them, and then rebuilt with just video and audio tracks before converting.Read my blog here.
