  1. Friends i have lots of videos(MKV format) in hdd having size 300 mb to 700 mb(since they have 2000kbps to 3000kbps bitrate). the problem is i want to reduce the size of those videos without reducing its resolution & with minimum amount of quality loss.right now im using handbrake to conversion & i successfully converted those videos & bring their size below 100mb with following settings

But The problem is the quality loss is huge

Im not master in video transcoding(don't have detailed knowledge about scripting, alpha, beta gamma etc etc) just have little bit of knowledge means selected the normal preset from the list of presets in handbrake & just changed the container, bitrate, set to the two pass mode since it give better quality op with more time consuption means no change in advance options of h264.

so plz guys guide me. tell me (i much appreciate if someone explain it to me or atleast given the link where all these advance terms are explained) the perfect setting so i can make file around 100 MB in size with least amount of quality loss.

I don't think you can do much. 330kbits for 1280x720p video is way too low to get any watchable quality.

  4. You can't unless you have the original source. Leave it as it is

Each time you re-encode you throw away extra information

Even to get LOWER quality, you would have to INCREASE the bitrate and make a larger filesize if you didn't use the original.

What you're using at the "source" is already very low quality with banding and posterization, so any more re-encoding will only make it a lot worse

  5. I do agree with Baldrick "I don't think you can do much."
coz Advance Video Codec uses the best compression methods.
Now, more you compress more loss of quality is for sure.
Plus, re-compressing of compressed one is not really advisable.
and furthermore, chances getting videos more pixlates is very high when you try to compress the compressed ones. This effect is very noticeable on big-screen.
