    Hi,
I am trying to back-up my copy of The Queen but no matter what I do I can not get it ripped.
I have tried RipIt4Me,DVDFabHD Decrypter,DVD Decrypter,AnyDVD,DVD Shrink, among others(you name it I probably used it),I also tried several in conjunction with each other and I keep getting I/O Errors (uncorrectable error,etc...)...it mostly comes up saying things like I have a scratched or dirty disc. I have cleaned the disc many times and there are no scratches.
I have tried several different drives to no advantage.
I have tried to ignore read errors and just about everything else I have read here on the boards.
The problem I believe is in the VTS_01_1.VOB file. I'm not sure if there are other problematic files or not(I think its just this one). I have tried ripping just this file by itself to no avail as well.
The movie plays great on my DVD players and on the computer I also have no problem watching, ripping, burning other DVD's on these drives.

Can anybody help me figure out just what the problem is?
Any help would be greatly Appreciated
    Thank You

  2. I've seen movies that appear to play fine but due to a minute scratch somewhere on the disc it hangs and you get an I/O error or it just stops and cant be ripped to HD.
I'd say a bad disc because my copy ripped fine using DVDFabDecrypt and the read errors are an indicator of a scratch somewhere. I have used all kinds of waxes, polishers and cleaners but sometimes the scratch is just too much for the rip to succeed. And the funny thing is I cant even find the scratch on some disc with my eyes and magnifier. Weird.
    I would try another copy.
    Good luck,
    NL

Some drives are better at reading discs (RIPPING) than others. I have an older Lite-On burner that I keep around just because it will often read discs that my Pioneer (112D) or NEC 3520/3540 won't read.

So I'd try it in another computer or with another drive if you have one.
