I have 2 LCD tvs with qam tuners attached to the same cable feed. They program the unscrambled hd to different channels and now one of them does not get as many hd channels as the other. I am looking for a new tv and want to make sure I can get all of the available unscrambled hd. what should i be looking for in the specs?

Look first for QAM tuner support. Then try to buy the latest generation TV. Tuner chipsets and firmware are still improving each year. Then closely read user reviews for QAM tuner performance issues.

Hey, the TV I want has a QAM but I don't have cable. Is it true that they sometimes pick up random neighbors signals, like TV on demand?

No. Not without a cable connection.
