DVD DECRYPTER is no longer updated. Use DVDFAB DECRYPTER to rip the files to your hard drive.

Rip your DVD in DVDFabDecrypter and read this: http://www.digital-digest.com/~blutach/pgcedit_guide/burning_with_pgcedit/burning_with...pgcedit_v2.htm

And do me a favor, please. Pretend like your posts on this forum are a letter to your grandmother. Write and punctuate correctly.

Typos I can overlook, but that mound of steaming...well, you get the idea. Your original post was such that I couldn't even decipher what you needed. I had to read the follow-up posts.

    I have a headache now.

Sorry for the typos guys....had to run out and typed and sent too quickly. Basically the gist is...I want to know, using freeware if possible, how to take a movie off of a DVD, and then be able to burn it so that it will play on my DVD at home....that is it.....I know that the DVDfabDecrypter will take them off the DVD...what to do from there I keep running into dead ends...thanks and Sorry Dad

If you use DVD-9, just burn the output from DVDFab HD Decrypter with ImgBurn. (Use only Verbatim DL disks)
If you use DVD-5, shrink the output from DVDFab HD Decrypter with DVDShrink (to ISO) then burn ISO with ImgBurn.

  9. Use Imgburn to create the dvd image, then use Imgburn to burn the image.

OK...let me get this straight...sorry for being a dolt....I rip with the decrypter....I then use the DVD shrink (I have that) to create the ISO..I then burn with the IMGburn??.....if I already have it ripped, do I just put it into the DVDshrink and then go on??

OK figured it out...here it is in English folks...sorry dad, but the question was pretty simple.....rip with the recommended decrypter above.

Then use DVDshrink to make it an ISO file, here is a great link/video on what to do http://rogertango.com/winkprojects/dvdshrink/ From what I see in this video, you can actually use this to take direct from disc...I may be wrong on that though...might be an already decrypted disc...works the same for a file though....just did it...

...then use IMGBurn/Nero, or another burning software to make the DVD... pretty easy....can't believe someone here could not just tell me this....

there are probably times when it won't work, but then you get to come back here and have "experts" make fun of you!!.....I would think that this will work 99% of the time......

robby1824, i'm glad you found a way to solve your problem. this forum site was set up to help people solve these kind of problems, and yet i dont think the guys here managed to do exactly that somehow. this looks mostly like a breakdown in communication - remember, the more detail you can go into about exactly what you're trying to do and the steps you are taking to do that are absolutely vital.

this is food for thought though, guys - as the technology runs ahead and gets ever more complex and diverse, and our attempts to understand it all get more ambitious, we occasionally forget that there are still people out there who have difficulty doing stuff we mastered many years ago. they aren't stupid, they just don't understand some stuff they need to. I personally resolve to try and help them, and not to scoff, or laugh, or give up in exasperation. it's the decent thing to do.

    Merry Christmas.
