Folks - just wondering if anyone else has experienced this....

when attempting to Author Mpegs captured on a DVB-T card, after adding the video under the "create disc" option,
VS10+ crashes with no error message, (the standard "send error report to microsoft" window comes up)

this does not happen on my other PC, which is of lesser hardware spec, but is identical in o/s
(XP Home SP2) and identical in terms of VS10 revisions (SP1)

It works ok with analog captures from the same card, but dies on DVB captures.
Also dies with DV from my handycam.

Any help or suggestions for a cure would be greatly appreciated!

    cheers,

I would try "fix" the dvb mpegs using VideoRedo using the quickstream fix and then author them with ulead. You could also try run through the mpegs using the free pvastrumento or projectx but it might not work as good as with videoredo.

Thanks - probably should have mentioned that the problem still occurs with files that are "fixed" with Videoredo and/or dvdpatcher.

    Found a solution....

copied all the files from this directory

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems\DVD

    over to the new PC......

don't know why they might have been different.....but it all works now.

    cheers,

I save, in VS 10/11, the video as a mpg file (same as first video clip-if DVD complaint), then I author using TDA 3.0. Much better and quicker results. VS authoring leaves much to be desired.
