Sorry to break it to you, but WinAVI is rubbish. Low quality, unstable and unpredictable. Uninstall it first, and create DVDs with something else. ConvertxtoDVD is a better option if you are happy to pay. FAVC is a great freeware option if you need basic menus, DVD Flick if you don't.

If you downloaded a movie in three files then use DVD Flick and it will join them into a single title, instead of three separate titles.

Finally, burn to disc with Imgburn (free) in build mode.

OK.. maybe you can assist me with this because i don't quite get it.

I spent literally 5-6 hours tonight trying to figure out why i could only fit 2 episodes of dexter on a video dvd, i have 11, season 1, and i want it on dvd.

Nero wanted to reduce the quality and make it unbearable to watch.

So then i just said screw it, burned all 11 episodes (350mb avi files each) to a dvd as data.

I put it into my dvd player (toshiba)

and it plays, absolutely perfectly, flawlessly, perfect sound, perfect video.

Granted, i have no fancy menu

But if i hit next, it goes to the next episode

Why oh why would i need to waste my time and money converting these to be on a video dvd when a data dvd plays them flawlessly.

Not all DVD players will play back Divx/Xvid encoded files. Many still only play DVD Video discs, in which case the files must be converted. That said, you should have been able to get 3 episodes on a disc at the same quality as the originals (which are far from DVD quality to begin with) without any effort, if you use the right tools.
