Hello all. I have been attempting to convert an avi clip to vcd using CCE sp2. My problem is out of the full video and audio AFTER the conversion, I only see video up untill a certain frame (ex. if the total frames are 50,000 I only see video up to 38,000 frames, although the audio is heard fine to the end. Could someone advise me on how to correct this problem? This is a screenshot of the settings used in CCE

Your source video probably has VBR audio - well known to throw encoders off. In that case, decompress the audio to wav first, and use the wav as audio source.
Or the source video has some error (and that you can play it from end to end doesn't say it's fine) at the point where the video stops. In that case, loading the AVI and saving out a new copy (using Direct Stream copy for both a+v) with VirtualDub may help.

Prior to posting my problem I extracted the audio frame to an uncompressed PCM stream muxed it back with the video and checked the video for errors in VDM, It also plays fine from end to end. And still the problem persists. Im guessing some sort of setting in CCE? I also tried checking for errors again as you have instructed me but no the problem persists, Thanks Mats

  4. I suspect your source is 23.976 fps and you're encoding at 29.97 fps. You'll probably have to perform the frame rate conversion in VirtualDub or AviSynth and frameserve to CCE.

You are correct jagabo, my source is 23.976fps I will try to frameserve using avisynth.
I will post back and let you know how it goes.

    EDIT > 12/2/07-10:50pm

All systems now go Jagabo, I Changed fps to 29 in a script , then encoded in CCE at 29fps and now the whole video is shown from end to end, I also thank mats.hogberg for his suggestion to help. There's a lot of talent here at Videohelp.com and many to share and learn from.
