    hi
i just converted an AVI file with subtitles to DVD Video with Convert X to DVD and there was no problems. the subtitles now are permanent with the image..
after that, i went to TMPGEnc 3 and made a menu for the dvd
but when i make output, the subtitles disappear (it happenned with TMPGenc 1.6 too)

and then i tried to add the subtitles and make Output.. the same result.

    can you help me?
    why they are disappearing?

I guess cajmere want nicer menus than convertx.

ConvertXtoDVD doesn't make permanent subtitles. Did you try add the subtitles in tda 3? and after you outputted to a dvd did you play with a software dvd player and you might also need to try enable the subtitles.

Don't know if this helps but I have found with TDA3 if your subtitle file is the same name as your video file, TDA3 will automatically add it to your video hardcoded. BUT, if it is not the same name, you can use the import feature within TDA3 and then it will be selectable. I probably have something setup wrong but this IS how it works for me so I just make sure the names don't match and use the import.
