    if i put in live free or die hard my drive won't read it or any dvd after that unless i uninstall my drive and reinstall then it reads other dvd's until i put live free or die hard in and does the same. can anyone help please??

    well i use dvdfab to copy does pcouffin have something to do with why it won't read? i'm using lite-on dvd multi recorder.

    If there are a certain number of read errors on a drive, Windows locks the drive/IDE channel down in pio mode and only uninstall/reinstall will restore it's proper DMA settings.

    If the disc is scratched or dirty or you use software that tries to read intentionally non accessible sectors (Arccos or Puppet Lock copy protections) then you will have the trouble you describe.
