    Hi I'm new to the DVD-R brands. Right now TDK Gold & Verbtaim are on sale and I don't which to buy. Which is one is better?

    All things being equal - Verbatim.

    The media gurus consider it higher quality media.

    Many drive makers view the quality sufficiently high they have 18x write strategies in their drives for it.

    Verbatim is good.
    TDK is now almost all CMC, and therefore not too good.
