Ok I have moved my vista pc to my hdtv room. It looks great and I can stream sdtv mpg files off my xp pc no problems. I have a wifi g router and a wifi receiver on my vista pc. Now when I watch a .tp file recorded off my fusion hdtv it stutters. I can actually get it to play pretty cleanly at times. However there is noticeable stuttering.

Would wifi n be the solution? Does N have enough actual throughput to handle hdtv files?

I do have a 160gb usb harddrive that I could use to take the tp files off my recording pc and then play them on the playback pc with the hdtv.

However ideally if I leave my pc with my hdtv I'd prefer to do it totally wirelessly

Have wifi n prices dropped at all? I would need to buy a router and a usb adapter for my receiving pc. Ideas?

Would it be cheaper to just lug the usb harddrive back and forth between the pcs? Is that the best way to ensure a steady playback?

You can then leave the USB hrive where it is, and transfer files and mange it's content wirelessly.

Some problems were encountered during benchmarking. Network latency reared its ugly head. Lag was high over cabled LAN and really high (600ms) over Wireless. This complicated benchmarking, but it’s hardly Silex’s fault. Still, we were concerned with the numbers. Below is a series of

thanks but that was from the first link. Sounds like a similar issue.

I may just go ahead and lug the harddrive for now. Maybe n prices will drop soon.

    I'll keep checking.

    Thanks for the option guns1inger.
