cant open ac3 file with tmpgenc.

Hi
ripped a movie with smart ripper and dvd2avi as i have done before.
on this film i am doing, tmpgenc wont open the ac3 file.
I get not supported or cant open.
I have never had this problem before.
This happens on all 3 ac3 files.
the only thing i am doing different is that i am ripping a ntsc movie.
what have i missed or not doing.

I assume you have a software dvd player installed, so you have a registered ac3dec directshow filter too. So you may try to set direct show multi media file reader to higher priority. However, TMPG sometimes have problems with compressed audio, so I suggest to convert the .ac3 to .wav. Besweet uses azid to decode and ssrc to downsample (if you need it).[/url]
