    Hi
i vebeen using BS Player to playback movies
and by pressing the p key I can make a
    capture of that frame

however I just had a movie in there
    it was probably 16 x9
    the caps I got out were (is it ? ) 4 x3

the pics looked wrong, prob because they
    are compressing the format

is there any way to change this ?

I had a look thru options etc but could nt
    figure anything out

    thaks for any comment

I guess it captures it in the pixel aspect ratio(PAR). I don't know if you can change it to capture it in the display aspect ratio(DAR) but you can easily change the image size in a image editor, resize to to 16:9 resolution like 640x360.

Orig pic out of bs player

changed it to 1024 by 768 but it does nt look right

changed to 1280 by 720 (double what you said )
    and that looks about right

there must be some way to make bs player deliver
in the same aspect of the video its playing
its delivering 16x9 frames into a 4x3 output
so the pics are bound to look sqoshed
I can t be going into photo editing with every
    single pic I capture !!

    Try to capture with Shift+P.
That will capture "What you see".
