I use Sony Sound Forge 8.0 but i can't figure out how to save an audio file to AC3 instead of a Wave file which i can do.
Basically when i capture my video using the WinFast PVR2 software, the Audio from that video is captured in AC3 48,000 Hz.
Then i like to edit the audio using Sound Forge 8.0 to make it louder or cut things out etc. I simply load the finished mpeg-2 file into Sound forge (Video & Audio) then save just the audio file only.
(I re-attach the edited audio file back to the mpeg-2 file when Authoring with TmpgEnc later on)
But the only way i can then re-save the completed file is as a wave file at 48,000Hz.
    I can't find a save to AC3 audio option.
If someone out there is using another peice of software that allows you to save to an AC3 Audio file then any suggestions would be very grateful.
Oh and i'd prefer that the software could open a mpeg-2 Video file aswell like Sound Forge.
    Thanks.

You need to pay for and register the Sony AC3 plugin to save AC3 audio from Sound Forge 8. Or have DVD Architect installed on the same machine. I don't know if Sound Forge 9 changes this requirement.

Other choices include saving as WAV and then converting with Aften, or looking at something like Audition.
