    hi my dad has a sony vaio pcg 8n2m laptop, and he has just got the 4 gig memory stick duo. now i can not get this to work it keeps saying needs to be formated. i have done this loads of times and still no luck pop into my mobile and the card works great?


    any ideas

    Could be a driver issue on the laptop, a bad USB port, or it could just need to be formatted differently.

    Is it a Sony branded MS or some other brand? There have been issues with the built-in MS reader on the Vaios for off-brand media.

    To start, ensure all of the latest drivers are installed on the laptop.

    Since this laptop seems to be known to have usb card issues, I would suggest trying a different card.

    Some computers have problems with greater than 1gb memory cards.

    Since both products are SONY, SONY tech support is the place to go for answers.
