  1. I downloaded the zip that contains the two premiere plug-ins, the avisynth.dll, and the install and uninstall regs. I first follwed the installation instructions on the avisynth page, but they didn't work. After a few tries I unzipped the pack to the Premiere/plug-ins folder, moved the avisynth.dll to my windows/system directory, and then used the install reg in the Premiere/plug-ins folder. Now, windows media isn't able to play .avs files (gives me invalid/corrupt file message) and I can frameserve some movies. I tried frameserving an already made movie and was able to open and play the .avs file that I made in TMPGEnc. Then to test I made a short movie with sound and pictures, but TMPGEnc only put something like Incorrect Link in the preview window. Did I install it wrong and is there a way to fix it?

This took me ages to work out as well, but it was really simple in the end. Just could not get my head round it.

You need to create a small notepad document. Or if you like download mine from my site - from the TEMPEnc page.

Basically, when you have downloaded the file save it somewhere safe. Then from within premiere, slect the AVISYNTH frameserve when you are readdy to enoced. Copy the text the appears in the box.

Open the notpad document, delete the text in the file, and paste the new one that you have copied. Save the file. Then open the notpad file tin the VIDEO SOURCE box in TEMPEnc, and off you go.

  3. I have made my own text files, and I tried yours, but they won't work. Whenever I am ready and begin serving, I copy and paste the IPCSource into a textfile and save it as a .avs file. First off, Windows Media won't play it and when I load it up into TMPGEnc I get this message "IPCSource: Unable to open IPC objects. Try using a different file name." Then it gives the address to the folder it is loacted in. Say I saved the file as "untitled" and then named the .avs file "test", it gives me this message, "IPCSource wrong server version. What I am doing wrong and how do you get the .avs to play in windows media? Also, could you give me exact instructions for installing avisynth? Thanks!

Make sure you have the 0.3 version of AVISYNTH and the 0.25 versions of plugins for Premiere.

I suggest you carefully follow the instructions from the originating site.

I made the mistake of downloading other versions, which did not work for me.

I really would not expect an .avs file to work in media player.

  5. Thank you so much! I guess my problem was with the avisynth version 0.5. Seems to work just fine now. Thanks so much for your help!
