Audio difficulties

Anyone having any issues with copying DVDs from the last week or so. Fantastic Four and a few others, the audio is very low or muffled. I'm using Ripit4me/DVD Decryter, DVD Shrink.

Also I've noticed for a while now (last 2 yrs) that when playing backed up DVDs, you have to turn the sound up much higher than on originals. Any ideas.

I have not had any problems on my end. I will recommend dvdfabdecrypter (free) as a replacement for ripit4me/dvddecrypter as dvdfabdecrypter is constantly updated.

As far as your problem i tend to think it might be a hardware issue. Do you have a second dvdplayer to try the problem discs in or can you try your discs at a friends house and compare originals to backups. My guess is your dvd player is malfunctioning.

As far as having to turn the sound up on copies it's the same on multiple dvd players here as well as at a friends. I'll try DVD fab thanks.

I have seen some posts regarding a slight drop in volume after using Shrink, but it was not substantial, and it is something that I have never experienced. Then again, having also converted many, many video files to DVD with AC3 audio, I have never ended up with DVDs that had low audio either.

Given that DVD Shrink does not touch the audio, it is difficult to see how it could cause such a dramatic difference.
