Hi Everyone,
I'm creating an application that will record video files which will be used as the input to a DVD authoring program. I've read that DVD video is based on MPEG-2 but what exactly does that mean in terms of the authoring process?
If my application encodes files in MPEG-2 format directly, does that mean that the files won't need to undergo any type of conversion when they're authored to DVD? If it makes any difference, I would like the DVD to be readable in any standard DVD player.
Thanks!
Kris

Thanks MysticE. I definitely don't mind doing some reading. Could you point me to one or two that you think would be the best starting point for me?
Thanks!
