I bought a Samsung BD-C6900 Blu Ray player that I have been using to play files from an external USB hard drive. So far it has played most of the files I've tested without a problem, but occasionally it will report it is unable to play audio or video because the codec is not supported.

I would like to know what are the best brands or specific models that are known for having the most complete codec support out of the box and with firmware updates so I have the best chances of it working with every type of file I throw at it in the future. I still have a couple weeks to go before my 30 day return window is over. It needs to have 3D blu ray compatibility.
