I was watching a tv show about DVD players and about the upcoming HD/Blu Ray new wave and the guy who was on gave reviews of DVD players that were in thousands. Now I know a $50 DVD player is s*** mostly but who would you say needs a really high quality system like that? For example, what kind of HDTV and home theater system would I need to be able to profit from buying something like that?
I know it's a bit like cars, the average person gets a 15,000 - 30,000 car but they can go up to millions. However, I don't understand what's really better to justify a jump like that? $700 I would understand but stuff around 2,000, I just don't get it.
Help please?![]()

Well what type was it?
The LG combo hddvd and bluray player is about a 1000.00. I think they said Samsung now has a dual next gen player in about the same range.
Is this what you are getting at? That would be for people who want next gen but not on two seperate players.Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
Nope it was more like the Bang & Olufsen kind of brand. You know, not mainstream stuff lol.

Frankly (IMHO), if you are taking the digital outputs from the DVD player and hooking them up to the digital inputs of the display, $50 is as good as $2500. For analog connections, it's a different story.

Well, okay I found an example... Here it is

Is it really mind blowing to put 5,000 on it??!?! -
Bang & Olufsen is 80% snob appeal for people living in a 900 sq ft. $Million high rise condo in upper west side Manhattan and need to think compact with style*. Since their space is small and neighbors will complain about loudness, a 50 watt per 7.1 sound channel is more than enough. But it has to be very low distortion sound. That last factor and the "Bang & Olufsen" name will yield hours of cocktail hour conversation about purity of sound an how one doesn't live long enough to listen to sound that lacks such purity.
If Joe sixpack inherited one from an auntie, he would toss it in the landfill telling everyone that it clipped when cranked up and lacked enough bass. Must be a K-Mart Blue Light cheapie.
* Bose would be considered Proletariat and beneath their consideration.
