I am having trouble lately when I convert PAL AVIs to NTSC DVD using DVDFlick. I have several AVIs, and so far, only 1 sounds fine on my standalone DVD player. The others have a problem with the audio signal bouncing between Digital and Analog, but some of them are AC3 2ch, it sounds like a microphone malfunction (parts of words are missed). The latest one was bouncing between Analog and Digital so bad, that my receiver flashed an Overload message and shut off automatically. However, the DVDs seem to play just fine on my PC. I don't know if it's using the digital audio out on the DVD-RW drive, though. I'm not sure how to check that. Please help. If anyone thinks it might be my receiver, let me know. Thanks in advance.

Maybe some problem with the ac3 converter in dvd flick or the source audio in the avi. You could try convert with FAVC and see if you notice any difference.

I tried using FAVC, but I got a Windows App error when it used QuEnc to encode the video. I tried using HCEnc, and it seemed to work fine. However, the audio was digital, but the sound only came out of the left rear speaker. I guess that's why the original conversion caused an overload w/my receiver. Any ideas?

Have you tried another tool such as ConvertX2DVD?
