Hi everyone, i got a 45 minutes video file but it's really big so i need a guide to compress it in Xvid with high quality, but i'm new in this, i dont know about the parameters that have to be set in the configuration of the codec, same with the needed software, so any help you can give me would be great.

Simplest method is AutoGK, which will take all the problems of settings etc out of the equation. It does depend somewhat on what the current file is. If it is DV avi or VOBs from a DVD then you will be OK. Just load it up, set an output folder, choose how you want it encoded, add your job and start the queue.

For encoding you can choose a bitrate, a target size, or a quality level.
