Hey guys I have a problem, sometimes when I go online the monitor goes blank and I have to reboot.
Here's the kicker:
1.It only does this when I'm online.I can encode, work in Office and play games for hours at a time.
2.It never does this when I bootup my WinMe drive...only on XP.
I'm leaning towards driver issues but I've tried several ATI Cat drivers.![]()

Have you went into 'Control Panel>Display>Screen Saver> Monitor Power? If not, switch everything to 'Always on' and 'Turn off monitor', Never. Or you should get to the same place with Control Panel>Power Options.
But that's fairly simple, so you may have those settings already. If that doesn't help, it might be a 'Windows' thing. But I don't know how graphic or browser programs can interface/interfere with Windows power saving settings. I'm assuming for now that's what's happening.
The part about rebooting has me stumped, though. It sounds like the computer is going into hibernate or some other deep power saving setting.
Last you could look at your BIOS settings for video settings when it powers down. Still, none of them seem to relate to web browsing. -
I figured it out(I hope),I changed the cable to DVI and it stopped.
The screen also looks better and it only cost me $6.
