I'm new to this whole thing but i am looking for a program i can use that after i rip all my DVDs to an external HDD i can view each movie's title and info with DVD cover and click on that particular movie and it starts to play.....any help or direction would be great.

This has been asked a few times in recent months. There isn't an app available to catalog video files in the way that you want.

well apparently if you want something done right you have to do it yourself.....lol......after two days straight of google and different combinations of search words i found this program (Media Portal) that is free and it does exactly what i asked.......you can add a folder where your ifo and vob files are or other formats and you can play them........you can also browse through your movies which sync with IMDB and provide you with descriptors and cover art.[/url]

Dont want the playing part but the rest sounds good. Automated cataloguing of avi and other video formats with cover art and actor lookup .. tHats what I need.
