  1. I have been converting some files from full size QT movies to FLV... here's a screenshot of settings:

The final video files don't seem too good... Here's where they are getting posted.

Any ideas on improving the quality? I like using FLVs, because so many people in the PC world don't generally use QuickTime.

    Thanks!

You could match the framerate to the source file for smoother motion (larger downloads).
You could up the bitrate for less blockyness (larger downloads).
You could wait for the upcoming Flash plugin that supports H.264.

207 kbps and 12 frames per second? ??

    What did you expect?

Would you drive out into the desert expecting 99 miles per gallon from a Ford Taurus?

The quality is excellent considering unconditioned 207 kbps encoding.

BTW: Quality looks great for a local production. Best to offer 207 Kb/s as a preview and then offer them a higher DVD quality version for a nominal fee. Ask for more. Withhold audio from the preview. I think most will pay for the full bitrate version or a full DVD.

If bandwidth is costly for you, ask for ~$10 for a DVD or $5 for a quality download, off your website..

Thank you for the advise! Any word on the timing of this new flash plugin?

These are for folks that have already purchased a DVD... just wanted them to have a preview prior to shipment. Thanks for the advise!
