  1. Is it true that:

When making menu using DVD MovieFactory 6 Plus it will Re-encode or Render my video files again?

  2. Not if they're already DVD compliant (and you have the "don't reencode" option enabled).

You could also download the trial version from the ulead web site and try it out for free. I'm using version 3 and it does not re-encode if it's told not to do so, but if you edit a clip or add a transition, v3 will completely reencode the affected clips regardless of any setting. I'd be suprised if v6 didn't do the same. I plan on demo'ing v6 to see if the upgrade is worthwhile.

Sure. Just save your Photoshop creations as bitmaps (.bmp) and use them as your menu backgrounds.

I use Movie Factory 4, but yours should work close to the same way.

I've used JPEGs as menu backgrounds in MF3, works as expected. BTW I tried MF6 over the weekend and was not terribly impressed by its upgraded capabilites, so I'll spend my $50 on something else. The trial version install aborted near the end which left a functioning app without uninstall capabilities. Ulead, bless their hearts, provides detailed manual removal instructions on their web site for crashed/corrupted installs so I could clear out the remains.
