    My unit is playing DVDs with an audio delay. HDMI cable hook-up to TV.

    ....can i make it region free?

    How do I do a hard reset?

    There may be audio settings in the player setup menu to adjust audio delays. Some players brands are more prone to this issue than others.

    Most JVC and Sony units are locked and cannot be made region free. Look in the DVD hacks section.

    Typically, just unplug the unit for more than 30 minutes.

    The audio on the dvd is fine; I have confirmed this. However it's weird.

    I will unplug the unit for 30mins.

    Most likely another player related issue related to PAL. Some players have audio issues related to the PAL to NTSC conversion. The problem is likely not just related to R5 discs, but to any PAL disc.
