Newbie Burning Failing

i just bought a Hard disk and I copied a file to disk, the file turned out to be a .MOD type file and I found a program to convert it called Streamclip to .mpeg(after hard disk earlier put in camcorder the site erases stuff when I try to edit). My problem is that once I burn the disk, the burn fails 14 to 19 minutes into the file. aI am useing the editing/burning program that came with the camera(panasonic SDR-H18) because the Roxio that comes preinstalled on my 2 week old Vista computer says it doesn't support the Audio on the file. I am new at this and I have ruined 4 disks so far, any help would be appreciated.

I assume that you are trying to author a burn a DVD.

If this is the case, don't let your editing application burn for you. Edit and author to your HDD. From here you can test it to make sure it works.

After that, burn with Imgburn. To good quality media.
