How can i tell if i have real or fake Taiyo Yuden DVD-R's?
Isnt it somehting to do with the media code?

If you look to the left for 'DVD Media', there is a link to finding out the media code: https://www.videohelp.com/dvdmediaform.php?dvdinfo=1#dvdinfo
Also be aware there is a economy version of TY media available, made by TY. It works quite well for me, but it's not the same as their 'top of the line' media.
For general DVD media information, take a look at lordsmurf's site: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/ If you look around there, there is a 'fake media' information section. -
Look at the disc. What are the serial codes in the hub?

On the plastic bit near where the spindle goes thru the hole it says on one side of the circle:
JG6
The other side:
JG6YSA136331GH I THINK!
very hard to see!
now by this can u tell if its real?
