I've been using TMPEG DVD for my Divx to DVD encoding and have come across some divx files that i get errors when trying to add it as the source. It say "unable to open file, only audio part can be opened.". I'm really puzzled as when i play the file directly in WMV i have no problems whatsoever. Anyone out there has come across this error. Help much appreciated.

Being able to play it on a software player doesn't mean a lot as a player like VLC can play a corrupted file with missing frames and you may not notice any problems.

But drop one of the problem files into Gspot 2.70 and post a screen shot of the results here and someone may spot the problem. To post screen shots: https://forum.videohelp.com/topic271697.html

Most likely it is the VBR encoded MP3 audio. A lot of converters either refuse to load it, choke while processing it, or produce out of sync audio at the end of the process.

This post : https://forum.videohelp.com/topic309224.html#1577383 will tell you how to prep the file so it converts correctly. Ignore the post at the bottom. This process was developed (not by me) because of programs like WinAVI. It is certainly no solution.
