  1. I just got done burning the first part of LOTR only to find out that when I play it on my dvd player it makes popping noises, but the original file does not. The file was an .avi and I converted it using TMPGEnc V.2.02.31.119 and I used toolame as the audio encoder. The video is fine (for the copy I got) but the audio keeps popping. What's causing this and how can I fix it?

  2. maybe decompress the audio with the audio decompressor in avi2vcd then encode the pcm file. that is just a hunch. i dont know what could be causing that, but you'd be surprised at how many problems an audio decompressor can solve. <pop goes the weasal goes the weasal goes pop>

  4. I had the same problem. i captured an avi file from my dv camcorder and converted it to mpeg2 with tmpgenc and used toolame also but the mpeg2 had popping and clicking sounds the original avi did not. the problem was that my avi file was captured as type 1 dv and after I converted the file to type 2 dv with ulead meada studio pro 6.5 editor the next time I encoded with tmpgenc the popping and clicking noises were gone.
