I used to actually know stuff about home theatre but it's been so long since I've had a need I've forgotten almost everything.

Anyways, I have an Adaptec AVC2200 capture box, what you would call Adaptec Videoh! DVD, she's pretty old, got her around '02 I think. So I can capture and burn DVDs, VCDs, Isos, Vobs, its all great I can do that. BUT occasionally I'm at the computer working on something particularly boring I want tab between work and watch a movie. Is there some software that will allow me to simply view (in fullscreen not a capture window) a VHS tape coming through the capture box? Or will I need to go and get a cheap PCI tuner.

I've held off on buying tuners only because of the advent of newer HD tuners. I heard the old NTSC tuners/analog TVs are going to be phased out pretty quick, like 2008.

    Thanks in advance.

I had a VideoH! with Windows ME. I think you can preview before starting hd capture. If you just want to watch, but not save, that's the way. The Windows Movie Maker software will allow this once you have installed the VideoH! drivers so the system can recognize it. I don't remember how large the preview window could be sized.

The only drawback with VideoH! was that you had to shut down the computer before removing it, even though it is USB. If you didn't you got one of the nastiest Blue Screen of Deaths possible.

I gave that a try tonight. It says it cant recognize it. I used the latest driver from Adaptec.

What about BeyondTV, I've read a few forums saying that it should work?
