I am trying to find something that i can use to charge my Ipod by plugging it into a wall socket that will also let me play music from it.
Basically i link my Ipod up at work but because i work 14 hour shifts usually, the battery dies.
I need a charger i can link up to a wall socket to charge my Ipod whilst it plays the music.
Or maybe even somehting to make my Ipod run from the mains sockets full stop.

I did find this but i'm not sure if it does EXACTLY what i want:

Yes , most do work ... but then you will only find out just how truely compatible they are .

Only a unit officially endorsed by apple would be 100% guaranteed , and provide some protection in the case of the connected device being damaged by the unit .

The one you gave link to is from au .

It's a buyer beware market out there , and its in you best interest to search

    Your area : http://www.porta-charge.co.uk/accessory_0054.html

    ----

From my experience , there will be a small number of sellers who will tell porkies about a product in order to gain a sale . When it comes to buying across borders , and countries , it makes it harder to get your money back when the device is found not to work as expected .

Its safer to buy within your own country , for warrantee return reasons .

I have quite a list of buyers from uk , and I always tell them the problem when it comes to warrantee returns , defeat the whole reason of purchasing from au in the first place . Because the uk is bloody expensive , well , so those visiting from uk have told me when they have visited here .

I still get phone calls from others , in uk and us asking for help , and they forget its after midnight here in some case's , but I'll help them out anyway , I'll get sleep later .

Sorry i shoiuld have mentioned i actually live in Australia now.

Yeah i'm after a charger that iwll charge the Ipod that plugs into a mains socket to a wall.
Even better would be to have a mains adapter for an Ipod that doesnt even invole the ipod battery.
Basically just running the Ipod off the electricity and not involving the battery at all.
Either that or im after something that plugs into the mains, charges your Ipod and enables you to play music whilst it is charging.
    Does such a product exist?

    Many thanks.

The satelite must have broken down ... again .

Well , if you are here >>> . au

Then it should be fine , though we tend to pay a tad more than other places ... guess they need to make a good profit on items they dont sell a lot of .

    I like this one : http://minidigital.com.au/product.aspx?productid=315927&catid=664&brandid=226

Just carry a set of rechargable batteries with you ... no need for power point = mobility .

I'll grab a couple for a few friends , to extend the players ability ... they can buy there own recharge kit (recharger + batts) .

Ask them what it supports .

I think there cheaper over here : http://www.elx.com.au/item/9319236929155

Any more ... want one for the car ?

From what I recall , you can play while its charging ... though the recharging is slowed down alittle .

Not sure about how to tell when its full charged , but them cheapo mp4 (amv) players display the battery while there playing .

I'll ask a friend what it dose ... I bought them a pc with xp in ebay just so their daughter could use the ipod with out problems , and its been gold .

She had to be a pain ... wanted it in tower format ... took almost 2 months before the right unit showed up at a reasonable price .

In fact , since I got them that pc , I never hear from them .

I phoned last month just to check and they said it was still perfect .

I have a bad habit of making less work for myself , but I cant complain when I still make 6 figures per annum .

Mine came with an AC to firewire adapter. Do they really sell them without plugs these days? How do you update the firmware? Because mine would ask to be plugged into the wall before flashing. Suppose there was really no need for that requirement though.

Yeah, Apple stopped including the charger around the time the 5Gs began to sell. My sister keeps borrowing mine to charge her iPod.

The 'plug into the wall' requirement was more a safety measure, I believe - just an attempt to make sure the iPod doesn't become messed up by having the battery charge run out while it's updating.
If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?
