  2. VCD-X and SVCD-X are not formats by the way...

    From all accounts VCD-X is XVCD and SVCD-X is either low bitrate SVCD or XSVCD.

  3. well, i know they are not formats, BUT they are another way of encoding a movie

    It does hold more in a standard stream for dvd players only, not vcd players.

    I recently found that out. Sorry for previous posts, they only work on dvd players.

    ITs non standard format (IE xvcd, xsvcd) that works on dvd players that only support vcd\svcd

  4. VCD-X is NOT XVCD

    It WAS xvcd but not anymore

    You have to encode it in xvcd then RESTREAM it with STANDARD stream.

    It IS NOT 100% standard but plays in standard format dvd players and is not 100% XVCD either, well there is no such thing as 100% xvcd but u get the picture.

    im scratching my head trying to figure out what the hell this means...

  7. I believe he meant that it was encoded using non-standard settings then remultiplexed using TMPGEnc using standard settings.

    sean, I believe that you really are in denial... If it isn't 100% VCD then it's XVCD isn't it?

    XVCD = non-standard/compliant VCD.

    Since your settings are non-standard, that would make them XVCD.

    You "saying" that they are not XVCD doesn't make them not. I can claim that spaghetti isn't really pasta until the cows come home but that doesn't make it true.

  8. I believe that SeVCD (Sefy's template) is a form of XVCD.

  9. I agree with Virtualis. If it is off standards then it is either XVCD or XSVCD. If it is above or below the bit rate standard it does not matter. Anything off standard gets the X.

    This is really simple stuff? Right?
