Some of my DVDs do not have subtitles, only closed captions. Unfortunately, AutoGK, the program I use to encode them to XViD, only gives the option to add subtitles and not closed captions. Is there a way or a program I can use to add closed captions as well as subtitles? Thanks.

I looked in the subtitle tool list and this looked to be the only one to do closed captions. Good luck. Can't comment on it as I never do subtitles or closed captions.....
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

I don't know why it was never listed but CCextractorwin will convert Closed captions from an MPG file to an SRT file. It is available at Sourceforge.com. The McPoodle programs will also convert CC to a file but it is a little more complex and requires three programs. Use Subtitle workshop to clean up the SRT file (it will do it very quickly!) and either DVD Flick or Gui for DVDAuthor to make the DVD. This is the way I make all of my recordings into DVD's. You can then use Auto GK to overlay the subtitles on the video for other portable players.
