    i keep deleting a folder but it reappears on usb hard drive, it's 160gb Lacie, anyone know how to stop it undeleting.

    Some program probably makes it everytime you open it..
    Unless...does it reappear instantly?
    ummm...Anyone ever hear of a FOLDER VIRUS?

    You should be aware that on a hard drive a file is never actually 'deleted'. The index for the HD is just changed and the OS is told it can now use the space that is now free for other data. That's what the disk recovery programs take advantage of. Until the same area is overwritten with new data, the files are still there.

    So, your problem is likely with the OS. It's not updating the index for the drive. Why? I have no idea. I would suggest you install the latest drivers for the external drive.

    Next guess is that you have some sort of data recovery/backup program running that is restoring the index.

    On my USB HDD I sometimes find files reappearing because Windows doesn't properly unlock them. I use Unlocker (free proggie) to unlock the files before deleting. The problem is tied to to windows preview process, but I haven't bothered to dig further for a proper solution yet.
