Currently i'm using the latest dvdshrink and nero 7. I purchased case of JVC DVD-R (1-16x) blanks disks. I burned 14 movies only to find out later that when played in my hatachi dvd player, the movies were choppy and freezed around 35-45 mins into it. The movies that did not freeze were very choppy and less than 4gigs in size. (Maybe the JVC are low quality).. I later learned that i needed to decrese the movie file to less than 4gigs and slow the writing speed down to 6x (in Nero) to get a playable dvd. However, when using the (burn with Nero) option in dvdshrink, it defaults to 12x speed (or higher). When burning at this speed i get crap. Question? How do i permanently change the default writing-speed setting in Nero so that i can use the dvdshrink and Nero together?

I'd suggest using IMGBURN to burn your discs instead of NERO. If you disable the NERO function in DVDSHRINK then you can use IMGBURN. Create a ISO IMAGE in DVDSHRINK instead of creating a VIDEO_TS folder. After DVDSHRINK is done creating a ISO IMAGE then just open up IMGBURN and burn the ISO image.
JVC discs aren't the best quality dvd media to use. Use VERBATIM dvd media. -
Budz, thanks for your responds..and i'll give it a try..But i must admit..i would prefer to use Nero since i've paid $70 for it. OUCH!. I also use Nero to convert my dvd to mpeg4 files for my ipod and the quality seems to be good. Thanks again for you responds.
