  1. Hi,

I have a DVD created from a DVD recorder that I've copied to my hard drive, and I would like to play it using wmp9 on win2k. Specifically, I would like to play the file "VTS_01_0.IFO". Windows Media Player Classic is able to play it, but I need to have it work under wmp9.

Does anyone know what I have to download and install in order to make this happen?

Btw - the VOB files contain mpeg2 video with mp3 audio.

    Thanks!

I don't think wmp9 can play a dvd like that. But you need a mpeg2 decoder installed to play dvds using wmp.

  3. I finally figured out the answer to my own question. What I wanted to do was to tell WMP to start playing a certain title from a DVD - in particular, from a DVD stored on a drive.

The answer seems to be to use the wmpdvd protocol:

    http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb249723.aspx

    e.g.: wmpdvd://I/2

to start playing title 2 from the dvd on drive I.

No offense, but if your original request stated what you were really trying to do, you may have gotten better response.

We play this game at work all the time...What do you really want?
