    Hi guys.

I recorded something off the television earlier and i need to put it on dvd a few times.

However, when i then rip the DVD with DVD Shrink it becomes out of sync.

Also, i have tried duplicating the DVD with Nero but still becomes out of sync.

I then linked up my dvd player to my dvd recorder to see if that would work but still was out of sync.

I had a look at the sticky at the top of the page too and i couldnt get my head around that.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated guys, and any software recommendations would be great.

    Thanks.

    Gaz.

If the original is on DVD, just use DVD decrypter ISO->Read, ISO->Write. This will make a bit for bit copy of the disc. If this plays back out of sync then the problem is the video, and not the programs you are using.

Ripping with DVDShrink....and trying to do some edits in DVDShrink is known to cause sync issues. If you are ripping the entire DVD(with no edits) in DVDShrink and you still have sync issues:
    1) Rip with DVDDecrypter(as gunslinger mentioned) in ISO mode.
    2) Look into a FREE program called FixVTS . It is simple to use and was initially designed with DVD Recorder discs (and their inherent ripping issues) in mind. You'll need to rip your disc to a VIDEO_TS folder to use it.

Hi guys thank you for your replies, much appreciated.

I have tried ripping it with DVD Decrypter but i am having the same problem still, the audio is about 1 second behind the lips movements.

This was ripping from the original DVD-r disk i recorded the program on.

Any other ideas would be great.

Create a VIDEO_TS folder on your hard drive.
Open DVDDecrypter - switch to FILE MODE.
Select every file in the right hand side window(if they are not already
    selected for you).
Select your VIDEO_TS folder you just created as the destination.
    Rip the disc.
    Open FixVTS
    Open your VIDEO_TS folder.
Drag the VIDEO_TS.VOB file into the FixVTS window
Click "In Place - No Backup" and Full DVD(I have all boxes checked)
After FixVTS is done...play the repaired VIDEO_TS folder in your
DVD playing software to test the sync.

Again....FixVTS was MADE to fix this type of problem.

You could use either FILE mode or IFO MODE in DVDDecrypter by the way. As long as you end up with the complete DVD on your computer HDD in the form of a VIDEO_TS folder...no worries.

You could also just drag and drop the VIDEO_TS folder fro the disc to the HDD....but most recorders do not make it that simple unfortunately.

If you are getting sync problems from an ISO mode copy then the problem is with the original disc or recording.

i used to have that same problem. now all you have to do is use CONVERTXTODVD and i bet you any amount of money everything syncs up correctly.

now of course there's the bad. sometimes when you use CONVERTXTODVD to make your dvds it has pauses in it. after every dvd i burn using CONVERTXTODVD i test it in my old PS2(i've had it for almost 2-3 yrs now).it will play and the audio will be synced but it has these less than a second pause. now when i put that same dvd into my SONY home theatre system there are no pauses and i've evn given them out for people to test them out for me.

remember not all of them do that pause thing but sometimes it happens. i recently converted and burned DADDY'S LITTLE GIRLS, PRIDE, and HOW HIGH. DADDY'S LITTLE GIRL & PRIDE were fine fine but HOW HIGH had those pauses in it and of course like i said when i put the dvd in my SONY it works perfectly.

    i'm using VERBATIM DVD-R 16X, SONY DVD-R 16X and NEXXTECH DVD-R 8X if that helps any.
