I´m having a problem with Windows Movie Maker.

I have 2 types of videos:
    1) Recorded with a mobilephone, converted into mpg1.
    2) Recorded with a VHS-camera, also converted into mpg1.

I have imported all the videos into Windows Movie Maker - without problems.

But I can only use videos recorded with mobilephone.
When I drag a videoclip recorded with VHS-camera down to the storyboard, the program shuts down.

    Why?
It´s in same format as the other videos (mpg1).
How do I solve the problem?

Ps.: The videos will play just fine in Windows Media Player, DivX etc.

    WMM = BUGGY.

Can you post the details of the videos? video and audio codec, framerate, resolution. Identify with for example gspot, mediainfo.

    Video codec: Mpeg1
    Audio codec: DScaler Audio Decoder
    Bit rate: 8,38 Mbps
    Resolution: 720 x 576

I´m suspecting the sound to be the root of the problem.
But when Windows Movie Maker has accepted to import the videos, it should be able to use them ???...

I just tried with another file.

The audio codec is the problem.
It´s supposed to be MPEG Audio Decoder.
    How do I change that?
The videos are pretty big: 0,3 GB, 1,1 GB, 1,7 GB and 1,8 GB.

Also: How do I change vido codec dvr-ms into Mpeg1?
