I have Videostudio 7 SE VCD. I know the newer versions are better, but this is what I have at the moment & I'm quite happy with it. The one and only thing I would like is a good crossfade, but this version doesn't have the Crossfade transition - only a grainy Dissolve.
I got my hands on the Crossfade file (crossfade.vfx) from a later versionand placed it in the VFX plug-ins folder of my installed program. But even after restarting the computer, the program fails to start with that file there. Does anyone know how I can achieve my goal?
Thanks,
Mark.

1.placed it in the VFX plug-ins
2.delete effbas.teg at C:\Document and setting\"user name"\application data\ulead... until you find effbas.teg
3.open Videostudio 7, wait for rebuild effbas.teg and your new .vfx has been in your Videostudio 7
