I am interested in skipping as much of the DV to mpeg2 process as much as possible and minimalizing the timeframe involved, any advice.
(Right now my process goes from DV to Premiere, output to AVI, TPMGEnc to mpeg2.)

Hi Nfielden
You can skip output AVI DV NTSC from premiere frameserving straight to
encoder, in this case TMPGEnc.
Search TOOLS menu on the left and download AViSynth, a very small and
smart software. I got it and put in Premiere 6 plugins folder. Works
like a charm and never crashed my system.
Hope i help.

yes you can
MyDVD does it it came bindled with my hp dvdburner it writes direct to dvd from capture
that is about the only good thing i can say about that prog the rest of it sucks -
cardosi was right - that's the best way
There is a good site explaining both : (how to work with avisynth - and how to make the best dvd from tmpgenc)
