I am new to this site, and have been searching (alot). Can anyone tell me a good multi-threaded video converter/transcoder program? I am running two dual core Xeons with hyperthreading (8 threads available) and would like to utilize them when transcoding video. I go from MPG2 to AVI/DIVX, and AVI/DIVX/XVID to MPG2 and VOB. Thanks for the help.

Hi-
Frameserve using AviSynth:

most encoders now.
the list of which don't would be shorter.
you can also run multiple instances of most encoders.
for mpeg2 encoders all 4 big ones,
tmpg, cce, mainconcept, procoder.
What's worth noting I suppose is that the excellent free HC doesn't support multithreading,
and that free autoqe does.
going to avi xvid
Autogk, and mediacoder...
As for what works best for your setup, speed requirements and tastes,
it's best you try a few out with a few quick tests.
