I have always wanted to wirelessly (due to it being impracticle in my home to hard wire) connect my PC to my big TV/home theatre system so I can watch media files from my PC on my TV and play music selections of the PC through my system in the house. I would also like to send my cable box to my PC wirelessly to record but know that is probably not gonna happen.

I saw an ad for ITV from apple and the marketing was a little vague but suggested that maybe it can do what I want.

I dont generally find apple products to be the best value and steer clear for a cheaper/better alternative but if this does what I need and nothing else does I will buy it.

Does anyone know what it actually does? I cant figure out if it just sends itunes files or if can send anything in any format from my PC?

Be prepared for the answers you will get on here.

But I am no fanboy either way so I will give it to you straight. You hook it up to your tv. It them syncs with your iTunes playlist. You can view the Quicktime videos you got in your library on your tv. But not everything that plays in iTunes will play on your tv. Seems they rushed it out. Your audio files and pictures will play just fine.

This tells you what video and audio formats are supported, and what you get in the box. Apparently it doesn't actually come with a cable to connect it to your TV - that's an accessory. The biggest problem with it - you must have iTunes in order to sync with it. Personally, that's a deal breaker right there.

I think I'm gonna wait for Neuros OSD to get an Electronic Programming Guide working.

that Neuros doesnt seem to have any HD and/or component capability - though it does have some other nice features, but video through a 1/8" mini jack is pretty piss poor design flaw
