  1. Hi all!

After i have converted from an .avi to .mpeg2 with tmpgenc plus, the movie laggs when playing it. Is it maybe because i have windows xp pro x64?

    Please help me!

  2. It could be, but then it is more likely one of a dozen or so other items.

    MUCH more info is required.

    Describe "lagg"

    Describe playback methodology

Describe type and playback quality of original AVI

    Describe encoding methods and settings

Describe field order, interlacing, frame rate, interlacing type, both in original AVI and encoded file

This information, plus more, may allow for something a little more accurate than a wild guess.

  3. Thanks for your answer!

Well the lag is like the movie sometimes drops in fps so it doesnt move so smooth.

I have tried playback with windows media player, VLC, on a dreambox and on other computers and the lag is always on the same place.

The avi-type was an xvid (XviD 1.1.2 Final) 25 fps and it runs smooth when i see it.

I use Tmpgenc plus, DVD - PAL MP2 audio, in encode-mode i have non-interlace. The field order is : Top field first.

I hope this is enough information.

  4. If this is a downloaded AVI that shows a glitch in one or two spots, this would be quite common and essentially nothing you can do about it.

Check the original AVI to see if the error is present in the source file. Garbage in, Garbage out.

  5. Nothing wrong with the avi but I've "solved" it now . I use winavi videoconverter instead and that works. I think the problem lies in the xvid codec or something because first i had 3 different xvid-codecs installed and then i deleted them all and installed a new. But still i cant open the configureation-program for xvid. But i can live with that .

    Thanks for the help!
