I just got a Pioneer 112D and some dual layer Sony +RW blanks. As a test I had Toast 6.1.1 copy two dual layer software discs. They copied and verified with no problem.

If I want to make backup discs of personal data or a movie from a hd folder, do I need to calculate where the layer break will be and avoid having a file jump the gap between the top and bottom tracks, or does it matter?

I want the discs to be as universally readable as possible, even if it takes longer to burn them.

Toast automatically sets the layer break at a proper point so you don't need to worry about that.

Thats good. The calculation method described here would drive me nuts.
