    Control panel > system

It will be listed under "owner" if sp2 is installed .

    Movie maker crashing ?

Almost anything sets it off , and for any reason .

Check for video driver updates , uninstall old , reboot , tell xp to not to install device , install new driver package , reboot pc , let xp check , ok , done .

Try setting your screens video resolution down slightly from what it is running now , and see if windows movie maker behaves better .

Make sure the graphics chipset is running , using default timings only .

In such case , load video , then save project , do a little bit at a time , and save project constantly as you go will save time .

    ----

Thats from my old amd system , the new p4 dosent now what a movie maker crash is , never happens .

    Does WMM support Divx?
    That is news to me.

The SP2 version seems to be more stable.
Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

ah yes that was indeed my prime suspicion. do you know of any program that supports divx and stuff only vlc can show? virtualdub did after the codecs but all i got was jumpy images and a failure to paste my mp3 onto the clip.
