I've been playing around with video editors for making AMVs. But i'm still a newbie to codecs and the likes.

Anyways, I have a slight problem. I have made a music video. I have VirtualDubMod that i will use that later to convert to xvid. The only problem i'm having is exporting it. The Cinepak Codec turns out crappy quality. The xvid turns out crappy quality as well, but i'm sure this is the fault of Premiere Pro 2. I could export it uncompressed, but i'm limited on space atm (having only 2gb free).

Can anyone make a good suggestion on what to export my Premiere project as? Perhaps suggest a lossless code? Preferably free. And perhaps a codec that turns out high quality at around 150mb or so. I will deal with the big size later.

Now i have tried the Adobe Media Encoder. The mpgs turn out fine and produced a nice 50mb video. But once uploaded to YouTube and it transcodes and recompressed it the quality was complete garbage. So now i'm trying to make a high quality xvid video around 100mb. So that when it recompresses it, the quality won't be so bad. I'm working with 320x240 4:3 30fsp video.

Also anyone have any suggestions for encoding videos for YouTube??

I just want to get my video out there for my friends to see. I have been at this for hours/days! Please help.
