I have an Ebook that happens to be an .lit file. Apparantly, to open it I need Microsoft Reader. I have a legit copy of XP. I have downloaded Reader 2.1 but it wont let me activate it. Im pretty out for calling MS.
Is there another program that will open these .lit files? Or a program that will convert them to something else?
Thanks a ton in advance.

Convertlit: http://www.convertlit.com/
with Convertlit GUI: http://dukelupus.pri.ee/convertlit.php
work great for me. Have used them many, many times to convert LITs to HTML, which I can then convert to eReader format for my Palm PDA, which can't read lits. Of course once they're in HTML, it is trivial to convert to any other format.
These programs are freeware.
Good luck. -
are people here actually reading ebooks? I would like to have a discussion about it- have a number of people intgerested in a book project...

Well the convert gui seems to do a pretty adequate job. There is some sporadic misspelling that is not in the original but nothing to troublesome.
Thanks a bunch
